New Messaging Limit Policy

Overview

Starting April 1st, 2024, we'll be updating our messaging policy to ensure that Agenthost is able to be competitive and sustainable in the long term.

Policy Changes

Message Definition: A message is defined as any chat input or output under 230 characters. Responses over 230 characters will count as multiple messages. For example, a 460-character response counts as 2 messages. This is necessary as LLM providers like OpenAI charge on a per token/character basis.

  1. Message Counting: Both user-submitted messages and agent responses will now count towards the account message limit. Currently only user-submitted messages count towards the limit.
  2. GPT-4 Usage: Responses recieved or sent using GPT-4 will utilize 3x the number of messages due to the fact that GPT-4 tokens are 20x the cost of GPT-3.5 tokens.
  3. Pay As You Go Plan: A new pay as you go plan will be introduced at $7 per 1000 messages for those who would like unlimited messages. This will be an add-on that can be added to the Pro or Growth Plan and will kick in once you reach your message limit.

Why are we making these changes?

Our current pricing model is not sustainable in the long term. We want to ensure that we can continue to provide the best possible service to our users. These changes will allow us to continue to innovate and improve our product. As we've been growing and support more users, we've seen an exponential growth in messages and costs, which we need to account for in our pricing model.

At the end of the day, we want Agenthost to be a strong, healthy business so that you can have confidence that we'll be around for a very long time!

Please reach out to info@agenthost.ai if you have any questions or concerns.
